I cannot allow you to build Wrexial as I'm officially switching my general to him...I think. Maybe.
For new ideas, I have a few suggestions:
-Reaper King
-Stonebrow, Krosan Hero
-Uril the Miststalker
-Rafiq of the Many
-Sek'Kuar
Since your current EDH decks span all 5 colors, then all of these are in the same colors. Reaper King, Stonebrow, and especially Uril make pretty good build-arounds. I'm hesitant to suggest Rafiq because I'm scared at what you could do with him. Mainly though, I just want to see a Reaper King deck. Finally, my top suggestion is Isamaru. Think about it. _________________ Life is a maze. This is one of its dead ends.

Giving me a 5 color general is like giving the Romans tanks. Especially one with a comes into play vindicate. Also, I don't like the art.
Eric is working on Stonebrow. Another new player friendly deck. This would be like Borborygmos lite.
Uril is flat out busted in my hands. It will be worse than Jenara.
Rafiq- see above, make it worse.
I have a 60 card deck around Sek'kuar, I really don't need an EDH one too.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't really like the given generals. I want something versitile and powerful. I also would like to not step on too many toes with the general choice. If possible, the general would not draw uber hate either. _________________ Face it, you're pretty much here as a meat shield.

Does anyone have a Godo, Bandit Warlord?
I think he would be a great EDH general for me. Good effect, build around, not combos. I think it's good, and I get to go into the red zone, a lot.
Another option is Konda. He too makes a fun general.
Right now I like Wrexial, Konda, and Godo. Please keep the suggestions coming! _________________ Face it, you're pretty much here as a meat shield.

I'm going to guess we'll be playing 60 card this week, and I found a format that I think could be a lot of fun. It's called Secret Alliances and the rules can be found here:
http://www.starcitygames.com/php/news/article/13781.html
I think it would be fun because it's a large player team format that doesn't slow turns down to a crawl like 3-4 player 2HG does. Also, it doesn't require an even number of players. The jist of it is is you have matched pairs of cards and each player is dealt one. (ex/ A forest and a green card). Going from the example, at the start of the game, all the players with basic lands flip their card face-up (This could also be done with playing cards, the matches are numbers and the black player starts face up, the red player with the same number is his ally.) The winner is the last team standing, but you have to figure out who your ally is.
I believe it would be a good format to try because having a team mate can help fix our disparity in card pools and play skills. Also, being face up makes you a large target, and this can be good as our newer players can learn how to handle being the target without being totally overwhelmed as they have one, possibly two allies. I hope it will shake up our group which is getting kind of stagnant and can get people excited/thinking about team formats without having to build a team oriented deck first. _________________ Champions eat Wheaties for breakfast, Sun-Tail Hawks eat Champions for breakfast. |

What the hell, I'm in.
It looks cool, plus I can run some more of the aggro decks I have this week. Also, the format has some cool variant rules, like adding an artifact or a 5 color card to the mix.
If people don't like it, we can switch to the hunt. Or another format. _________________ Face it, you're pretty much here as a meat shield.

I think it sounds pretty fun, once you get the hang of it. I'd love to try it, but unfortunately, I wont be at Magic Friday night. I'm taking my brother to a dance at his school. |

What does no one else have an opinion about this format? Andrew, Becky, Ben, Gollum, and the rest of you guys: Give your feed back. Eric has a made a solid argument for why we should play Secret Alliances this week. Post up if you like it, don't like, can't come, or whatever.
I like the format. It helps make things easier for newer players and I am brining some of my les sused decks this week. I think that if this week goes well we could incorporate this into our normal games. FFA, Chaos, Hunt, Secret Alliances. From here we can move to more team formats like Emperor.
If you want a deck for this week let me know what you want. _________________ Face it, you're pretty much here as a meat shield.

The Hunt is today, well much later today as I write this. But today, the 18th. After the Hunt we'll probably play Secret Alliance or FFA or maybe Chaos. _________________ Face it, you're pretty much here as a meat shield.
