GLADIATOR BEAST WAR CHARIOT

COUNTER TRAP

TEXT: "Activate only if you control a "Gladiator Beast" monster. Negate the activation of an Effect Monster's effect, and destroy it."

HARV'S REVIEW

Most Gladiator Beast decks contain anywhere from 50-75% Gladiator Beast monsters, not including the monstrosities that are Special Summoned from the Extra Deck. That being the case, I see no reason not to have one or more of this card in a Gladiator Beast deck. A couple War Chariots, along with the typical (3) Solemn Judgments per deck, could prove a great asset, and is part of the reason why we still see a Glad deck in the top 16 at Shonens occasionally.

This card is a Divine Wrath, without the cost…and we know how beneficial a Divine Wrath can be, even with a cost. Solemn’s cover more bases, which is why they supersede Divine Wraths, but if there were no cost involved, youd’ see Wrath’s ran a bit. That said, get War Chariot in your Glad deck. There are a slew of monsters that are ran too much, who’s activated effect could make your life miserable. Celestia, Judgment Dragon, Dark Armed, Monarchs, Snipe, Breaker, Lyla, Zombie Master, etc… The fact that this card is a Counter Trap is great. Not to say that you’ll never have the kibosh put on your War Chariot when you go to activate it, but by it being a Spell Speed 3 you have a better chance of pulling it off. Even if you run just one in your deck, Gladiator Beast Equeste can help you to you that copy a time or two more, depending on how many of him you run of course.

Again…get em’ in.

Gladiator Beast Deck – 9/10

Gladiator Beast Side Deck - 10/10 (if not decked)

Art – 6/10 (The Romans had cooler looking War Chariots)

CHARLIE'S REVIEW

A good support card for the mighty Gladiator Beast deck. It is a counter trap which means its not as easily chainable, but it is spell speed 3 which makes up for it.

Simply put this is Divine Wrath for Gladiator Beasts. If you have a Gladiator Beast monster on the field you can negate the activation of an effect monster and destroy the effect monster. There is so many good targets for this card. Zombie Master, Dark Armed Dragon, Judgment Dragon, Neo Spacian Grand Mole, Gorz The Emissary Of Darkness, Monarchs, opposing Gladiator Beasts, alot of Lightsworns, and almost every decktype that see's play has some strong targets for this card.

Gladiator Beasts were already a strong tier one deck, this card solves the main problem with them. Destruction in monster form. Destruction in monster form is the weakness of Gladiator Beast Heraklinoz. With Chariot set along with Heraklinoz on the field will probably have your opponent locked given you have a full hand to fuel Heraklinoz's effect.

This card is very cheap to get and it boosts Gladiator Beasts to a new level. If you run Gladiator Beasts you run 2 or 3 of these. This card can be difficult to trigger sometimes though and can create dead draws, so most people run only 2 and use 1 Gladiator Beast Equeste to recycle the Gladiator Beast War Chariots.

Gladiator Beasts 8.5/10

Other decks 1/10

Side deck in Gladiator Beasts 7/10 They should be main decked not sided in my opinion.

Art 5/10 Looks rather plain in my opinion.

It's requirement of having a Glad Beast on the field, and targeting only a monster's activated effect, may be rough on occasion...but it being a Spell Speed 3, it's very chainable.

...unless your talking about somebody wiping it out of your backfield with a Heavy or something.

Its situational, and it can be blown up by Heavy Storm etc. :)

Charlie, just an FYI, all counter traps DO NOT TARGET just so that there is no confusion.
