Now that the rules are out, I'd really enjoy GMing a 4e game in or near Toms River. My free time for gaming runs to Saturday nights and Sundays (with the latter being better for me, as it's the one day I'm guaranteed to be off work). I can host or travel, as needed.

I've been gaming...mainly GMing...since '79, and have run various systems (including most incarnations of D&D) and collected tons more, along with enough other board- and wargames to stock a used-game section of a store. While I do sit in front of the screen from time to time, my true passion is GMing, and I enjoy both roleplaying some memorable NPCs and running a rousing combat.

I prefer playing with mature groups (of mind and spirit, that is; calendar years are not an issue), so if there's anyone looking for a game or for another gamer, please give me a shout.

Just in case anyone's interested, a little map:

Is this a map or your campaign area or the current one running at the Geek? I'm assuming that it is yours.

It would be mine...I'm not involved with anything running at the Geek right now.

Okay then, the map is pretty good. I think it is helpful if the map could be labeled, but other than that I like it. Although the area is fairly dominated by forest/woods and mountains. What do the people eat? There isn't any real farmland available.

I can (and will) label a few things, though at this scale there's a lot that can't be. I'm not entirely done tinkering with the map, but it's mostly in place.

The people living along the rivers on the coastal plain will be shocked to hear of the lack of farmland, though I expect the fishermen will be pleased at the extra business.

I like it, how did you make it?

Campaign Cartographer 3, using the Pete Fenlon style pack from the 2008 Annual. It's actually surprising how fast a map can come together with CC3 if you have some notion of what you want it to look like.

Pretty cool, I hope that you can get a pretty good group together, Toms River is a little too far with gas prices these days.

I hope I can too. Admittedly, I'm about 15 miles from the Geek, but gaming stores are not thickly spread on the ground these days.

Hey, I might be interested, as long as it's on a weekend. I'm really busy during the week.

It'd definitely be on a weekend, almost certainly Sundays, as that's the one day I'm guaranteed to be off.

And in case anyone's willing to put up with constant changes and a "webmaster" whose HTML is as rusty as an old saw, here's a little more info:

Shadows over the Northlands

Shadows over the Northlands is now ready for launch...we will be having our first get-together very soon. If you're on the fence, the time to jump off is now! All PHB races, all PHB classes (plus two fan-created ones, the Bard and Druid), 22-point build. Come and have some Sunday fun in Toms River!
